Find your way
You will find the area of Tiveden in the centre of Sweden between the big lakes Vänern and Vättern. It involves parts of the communities Laxå, Askersund, Karlsborg and Gullspång.
Train
Trains from Gothenburg, Stockholm, Hallsberg or Örebro. Railway station is located in Laxå. From here you can hike or cycle into Tiveden. Check with your accommodation if they can arrange a transfer.
Bus
Limited with buses.
Car
From highway E20 take entrance Tived (Finnerödja) and drive road 572 towards Tived.
From Karlsborg, drive road 49, take the entrance with Granvik towards Tived. Or take entrance National park Tiveden.
From Askersund take road 205 towards Laxå, take then entrance to Tived.
Boat
Take the Göta Canal to Forsvik. Then cycle via Undenäs towards Tived. Count on overnight stays before you cycle back. There are also guest harbors in Lake Vättern in Karlsborg, Granvik, Olshammar and Askersund and you come with your own boat.
By foot
Walk the Bergslagsleden into Tiveden! You can start from Ramunderboda (just outside Laxå). Take a train to Laxå and then take the bus (761) to the trail. Or start hiking already in Laxå!
A slightly tougher route is to start on the Bergslagsleden at Ånnaboda. Expect overnight stays. Take a train to Örebro and then a bus to Ånnaboda.
Or hike Munkastigen to Tiveden. Expect overnight stays. You take a bus from Örebro to Fjugesta and the trail starts 3 km outside the community.
