Tingsjötorprundan is a fantastic little gem in the nature reserve
Stora Fjället nature reserve. This loop offers magical old-growth forest,
mysterious forest lakes and exciting cultural and peat remains.
It's easy to like Tingsjötorprundan, where nature and
culture in a way that makes your thoughts fly away. If you choose to
start the trail at Ormahålan and walk in the direction of Kroksjön so
you are immediately greeted by a forest that has been untouched for many years. The huge
boulders, the huge spruces and the shimmering green moss
create a feeling of the old great forests of Tiveden. The John Bauer feeling
is palpable and if it is somewhere on Stora Fjället you might meet
a troll, it is on this stretch.
From Kroksjön the trail continues past magnificent wilderness nature
and now you can see traces of human impact. The area is rich
of cultural and peat remains and suddenly you meet old
stone walls and traces of old house foundations and cellars.
In some places there is information about the people who lived and
lived and worked on the site a very long time ago. Imagine how a life
on Stora Fjället looked like 150 years ago, it gives you perspective!
